CHT Joins EV100 to Accelerate Low-Carbon Transportation
CHT (Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd.), announced its participation in the global electric vehicle initiative EV100, becoming Taiwan’s first telecom company to join. This marks the start of its full-scale low-carbon transportation transformation, with plans to replace 6,000 engineering and service vehicles with electric vehicles (EVs), prioritizing locally manufactured EVs.
Commitment to Low-carbon
In response to global net-zero trends, CHT joined the global RE100 initiative, committing to 100% renewable energy use by 2040. By joining EV100, the company now targets 100% electrification of its engineering and service vehicles by 2030. This effort aligns with Taiwan's 2050 Net Zero Emission Strategy for transport electrification and decarbonization, while joining over 130 leading global companies dedicated to environmental sustainability.
Driving Low-Carbon Transportation Transformation
Between 2024 and 2026, CHT will gradually replace its fleet with EVs, and from 2027 onwards, it will procure only EVs, totaling around 6,000 vehicles.
