eTreego, Delta Electronics, and Phihong, Taiwan's three major charging station suppliers, all possess R&D, design, and manufacturing capabilities.
Established in 2017, eTreego is a startup sponsored by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). Facing formidable competition from two publicly listed companies with over 50 years of history, eTreego prevailed with its diverse charging station specifications, maximum flexibility, and customized services. The general manager stated that the team has been developing electric vehicle control systems for over 10 years and has extensive experience in charging, motor control, vehicle control, and battery management systems.
eTreego integrates the technical resources of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) to develop a comprehensive range of electric vehicle charging equipment. Compared to Delta Electronics and Phihong, its product range is more comprehensive, earning the favor of many major corporate clients. It is the only company in the industry to supply charging stations for two-, four-, and multi-wheeled vehicles. It is one of the only two suppliers of electric bus charging equipment, along with Phihong, and is the sole provider of solutions for electric motorcycles. The general manager stated that electric motorcycles, like cars, have fast and slow charging options. Gogoro has led the domestic electric motorcycle market in battery swapping, much like Tesla has led the development of electric vehicles. The Battery Swap Alliance is actively consolidating specifications, solidifying the position of battery swapping electric motorcycles. Beyond Taiwan, the market will continue to be dominated by charging, and compliance with international standards for motorcycle fast charging will be essential.
