To explore Southeast Asian markets and strengthen the international connections of the Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA), a tech startup hub, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) today supported Taiwanese startups to participate in Techfest, Vietnam's annual startup event, to enhance collaboration between the two regions.
Techfest, Vietnam's largest official startup expo, launched in 2015 and now in its fourth year, will be held in Da Nang from November 29th to December 1st. This year's event will focus on Industry 4.0, e-commerce platforms, and green energy technologies, and will also expand to neighboring countries: Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Korea.
In addition to participating in the startup expo during the event, the Ministry of Science and Technology also arranged for startup teams to visit representatives from Vietnam's National Agency for Entrepreneurship and Business Development (NATEC) and the National Science, Technology and Innovation Fund (NATIF), hoping to deepen collaboration between the two sides.
Teams were selected based on market potential, product differentiation, and operational stability. eTreego Co., Ltd. and HAN-WIN Technology were selected as the winners.
eTreego is a design company for electric vehicle charging control modules. Its non-uniform current charging technology can provide an electric scooter with over 50 km of range in just 6 minutes, significantly reducing the average charging time by one hour.
HAN-WIN Technology, a Taiwanese manufacturer of power lithium battery management systems, has developed "Inno-Safety" technology, providing lithium battery power products with high safety, high efficiency, long life, and low power consumption. The company currently supplies products to manufacturers of electric bicycles, energy storage systems, street lights, and electric gardening tools.
As the Vietnamese government increasingly commits to carbon reduction and sustainable development, its Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Application Program (NAMAS) aims to have 6 million electric vehicles on the road by 2020. Amidst Vietnam's trend toward vehicle electrification, teams such as eTreego and HAN-WIN Technology, both of which possess electric vehicle-related technologies, are expected to make a splash at the show.
