The International Smart Mobility Exhibition opened today (12th). Shiling and eTreego announced that they will launch new technologies for charging pile hardware this year. In addition to developing their own core technology electric vehicle power system, they have established a charging operation technology service company "gochabar" in February this year in a joint venture with Hotai Group, which has the highest car market share in Taiwan, and eTreego, which has the highest charging pile coverage in Taiwan. Gochabar's business projects mainly focus on smart charging cloud services. The focus of new research and development this year is the 480kW water-cooled super-fast charging pile, which is expected to obtain certification as early as the end of the year and start domestic shipments next year.
eTreego Chairman Jimmy Chein stated that the Taiwanese market is relatively small, while the export market is larger. eTreego has secured a three-year super-fast charging contract from a US energy company. The company expects to obtain UL certification for its 350kW chargers in April, with CNS and CE certifications pending. Shipments will begin in May, with an expected shipment of 300 to 400 units to the US in the second half of the year. The pace of shipments will accelerate in the second half of the year, reaching 1,000 to 2,000 units next year.
Last June, Shiling Electric invested NT$1 billion to establish the "Green Giant Energy" brand, integrating its three core business areas of energy creation, storage, and utilization to provide comprehensive solutions for green energy system orders. eTreego collaborates not only with Shiling Electric, but also with HE JUN ENERGY, a subsidiary of the Hotai Group. While Toyota, a subsidiary of the Hotai Group, will have a limited number of electric vehicles this year, Lexus will introduce another model. To meet future EV charging needs, HE JUN ENERGY has actively deployed charging stations, forming a collaborative model whereby the company designs charging stations specifically for HE JUN ENERGY.
HE JUN ENERGY pointed out that its own brand EV Run charging stations will be operational in the second quarter. In order to meet the rapid growth of charging demand for electric vehicles in the future, the company will not only deploy charging piles in various venues within the group, but also actively participate in the construction of various public and commercial venues, in order to provide electric vehicle owners with more convenient and complete services.
Regarding the two-wheeled vehicle market, Jimmy Chein noted that two-wheeled vehicle charging stations had already been shipped to 12 countries overseas by 2022, including six each in Southeast Asia and Europe. Four-wheeled vehicle exports are primarily focused on fast charging, and following orders from the United States, Japan will also be entered in the future. Regarding automakers, charging station customers include not only the Hotai Group, but also Nissan, Volvo, and Hyundai Motor. The company is also collaborating with major construction companies and residential companies throughout the province. With the rapid development of the domestic residential market, the company aims to capture a 20-30% market share. Furthermore, the company plans to participate in large-scale charging station tenders for projects such as highways and public spaces.
